Blender

As I explain I was searching information about a 3D program.
One of the firsts that I found was Blender .It's a free open source 3D content creation program, available for all major operating systems. It can model, shade, animate, render and composite your own object.
I have to repeat that this is my own opinion about it, and I don't use it for a long time to know it completely. Now I'll tell you some features.

Blender it's absolutely free.
There are a lot of information in the net about the program as well as tutorials, exercices and interesting websides with videotutorials. For example here I leave some:
       . http://www.blender.org/  → official website
       . http://cgcookie.com/blender/  → for me, the best
       . http://gryllus.net/Blender/3D.html  → great for begginers
       . http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Doc:ES/2.6/Manual  → wiki of blender
       . http://www.g-blender.org/

Blender modernizes constantly. Now there are the version 2.61, but there are improvements habitually.
I think that the interface are quite simple and modern.
For the options, Blender have all these are necessary. So it's ok.
Personally I think the options material and textures a little bit complicated... but is a matter of practice.

With Blender you can make your own presentations and titles too.
For example:

And, as I've said, you can create your characters or animations!

The animation it's also correct. Maybe I don't like the way to render. It can take for a while... specially for a render animation. Otherwise Blender has got a very efficient physics to apply like force field, cloth, fluid, smoke, collision and soft body.
Here you have one example made by myself.

Otherwise I can affirm that it's a really good program.
To conclude I'll add that Blender incorporates a realtime 3D/game creation so you can create and design your own games.

I won't explain all the features or sections of it, as it's in the office website and a lot of another webs.

Here are some renders made by Blender (from http://cgcookie.com/blender/gallery) :
